Gnocchi Politics

Politics make me angry. It's such a game, and campaigning is such a ridiculous tradition of wasting tons of money on widely broadcasting lies that will hopefully get someone elected. Debates are silly cat-fights between men in suits who talk over each other, both trying to sell the other out faster.
Sometimes I wonder how I could ever calmly conduct myself during a public debate. I feel like half-way through the first question when my opponent took jabs at me I would just lose my shit and settle the debate by knocking him/her out, then repeatedly whipping them with my ponytail until they tapped out. Then I'd feel bad, like a sour patch kid, and apologize for yelling. The only kind of debate I might feel authorized to take part in, would be about gnocchi. My main points could include its deliciousness, how it can be practically frozen, and that eggs are unnecessary to its integrity! I have no idea who would oppose me. But boy, do I urge someone to bring it on.
I was at work today when, like a thunderclap, a strong desire to eat gnocchi came over me. I had no frozen gnocchi in my freezer, which would aid me in the eating-gnocchi process, nor a store in a 3-town radius that would sell me any gnocchi, frozen or fresh, vegan or unvegan. So, in order to make my own dreams a reality, I knew I'd have to make my own gnocchi. That's okay. It's messy, but fun!

Not a real gem of a photograph, but it was pretty tasty. It's just gnocchi sauteed in olive oil, garlic, nooch, salt and pepper over some sauteed veggies. Brings me back to the early days, when all I ever cooked was stir-fried veggies and pasta. Sometimes the most seemingly simple dishes are ones you remember for years. Maybe I've just been feeling nostalgic lately, since I've been craving silly things like (not)chicken nuggets, stir-fries, and plain old pasta with tomato sauce. I shuffled onto Arrogant Sons of Bitches one day last week and now it's literally all I want to listen to. I will convince myself that all I have to do in life is eat pasta and go to punk shows. Who says I have to grow up?
