Do you ever wish you could eat a pizza-- with a fork??
Maybe you wish you could eat a pizza without dough? Maybe even without tomato sauce? Well it seems like I am not really describing pizza at all anymore, and I guess I'm not, because I'm talking about the Pizza Bowl from Isa Does It

I've made this and dozens of recipes from this book many times. This one is a favorite. It doesn't require you knead dough, let said dough rise, or preheat your oven to 500ºF on a hot summer's night.

So you've got your starch, mine is brown rice, your green, mine is kale, your pizza protein, here it's seitan sausage (you can make your own, but I bought some field roast italian sausages), some red onions and garlic, because what is a pizza without garlic? All of that drowned in a sauce made of roasted red peppers and tomato paste with a couple of other things thrown in for pizza-y perfection.

Scatter a handful of olives on top with a few shakes of chili flakes, and you've got pizza-- in a bowl! What is your favorite recipe from Isa Does It? I have yet to make a few that look amazing, but only a few remain! It's definitely one of my all time favorite cookbooks.

  1. That looks good! I hadn't noticed that recipe yet. I've only made like 3 recipes from Isa Does It, the best one being the scrambled chickpeas. So good!

  2. I love bowl recipes. I just finished eating Isa's gravy bowl. So far my favorite is her bowl with the peanut sauce.

  6. Waaah! I want that so much! I haven't cooked out of Isa Does it nearly enough because I lent it to a friend shortly after I got it (I have no idea why...?) and have only just retrieved it! The bowls chapter seems to have the most bookmarks in though.

  8. I was looking at this recipe just the other day - it is one I have bookmarked and looks lovely in your photo. I've made a few things from Isa Does It but need to spend more time with it (and my cookbooks generally)
